Picnic was, is and will always be a great love of ours. We are cyclists and hikers and the best thing is to just bring great food along, roll out your mat where you are togther alone and where you have that special view. A place to linger whilst you nibble, a place to see the sun rise, to sit out in the shade of the midday heat or to see the sun go down on Luberon.
We by now have build an intimate knowledge of great picnic spot of the beaten track, some just large enough for 2, some large enough to accommodate a hidden, intimate picnic for 40 people looking out over lavender fields.
Let me share one place off the beaten track with you that we so love to visit: Domain Les Davids offers a walk on its extensive grounds. To find the entry to this part of the domain, drive past the main entry and take the second on the right coming from Viens. Park your car at the beach flag and take yourself and your company on the signposted walk (dogs welcome). From spring to late autumn the walk will greet you with wild flowers and stunning views through valleys and on hills.
Fancy to take a picnic along?
I collaborate with the wonderful artisinal bakery ran by Anne-Sophie. This means you can order chez moi and pick up chez le boulangerie. Menus will be published weekly in picnic season (starting pretty much April). So watch this space!
